Besides going for walks / hikes, one of Bruno's favorite past times is hanging out with the kids.

Out on a Hike

Bruno was out on a hike. He was trotting along behind us. When we turned around to look at him, this is what we saw. Somewhere along the way Bruno had picked up a jaw bone of a dead deer. Oh Bruno, the things you find!

I went out on a nighttime hike with Bruno. Allie stayed home because her hip was bothering her. Through the woods I spotted someone shining a flashlight around. Knowing everyone in my family was in bed I called Bruno over to me whispering to be quiet. We walked closer to the house and I no longer saw the flashlight, but I decided to quietly walk around the outside of the house looking. The really neat thing was, Bruno was walking close to me, with his ears perked, very alert. He was paying attention to my commands with an alertness I had never quite seen in him before. I'd whisper, "come here" and "lets go this way", and he'd walk right back to my side. I'd say, "Do you hear anything?" and Bruno would perk up and look around as if he was searching. At this point I was pretty sure the light I had seen was the neighbors looking for their horse in the next field over, but it was really fun to play the spying game with Bruno. He sensed I was looking for something and was playing along. I think we might have some fun with this new game... :)

For the past couple of days, while out on our hikes, there is a spot we pass where Bruno has been jumping over some bushes, to get off of the trail, and running around the woods just a bit before coming back out to the trail. I have been letting him, as whatever he was doing, it was good exercise. I was close by, but there were some shrubs blocking my full view of him. This past time when we walked by this spot Bruno came back out with this in his mouth.

Bruno drops it. I pick up the skull and toss it deeper into the woods. Suddenly I realize my hands smell like SKUNK! I never noticed the other skull smelling like a skunk. Oh gross, if there is a head, the rest of the body is back there too!

 

 

Bad Puppy Moments

We went out for 2 hours, leaving Bruno out of his crate. That was the longest we had ever left him alone, with free roam inside the house. When we returned home everyone started looking around to see if he did anything bad. The only thing we could find out of place was, Sara's bag of Valentines day cards and candies had been carried from the family room coffee table (a room Bruno is not allowed to be in) and placed in the middle of the living room floor. The bag was not ripped, the content inside the bag was not removed, nor chewed. The bag was simply carried from one room to another and placed on the floor unharmed.

Now the big question is... Did we come home just as Bruno had taken the bag off of the coffee table? If we had been gone longer, would he have chewed the entire bag up? Or was that it, he just carried it from one room to another and dropped it? hmmmm.....

First of all Bruno, that is the CAT bed you are sitting on and why is it upside down? Secondly, where ARE all of my cats? They are usually sleeping on that there bed, and thirdly, why is there water spilled all over the place? It's too cold to be playing in water. Bruno, get off that bed and come inside the house. It's time for you to go to sleep for the night. Hopefully my cats will be back soon. You silly puppy...

Bruno, you pulled stuffing out of your crate liner again! You know if you keep doing that it won't be fluffy anymore. When are you going to outgrow stuff like this??
